About
It all started when…
I was sitting in the living room in a pile of burp cloths and baby puke as my older two children played happily at the table with Play Doh… and let’s be honest, the only “happy” people with Play Doh are the kids, because us adults (especially us “Monicas” of the world) cringe at the thought of it being mashed into our socks and carpets. At this moment I knew I had made it. Living the proverbial “American Dream” at its best.
Over the course of the next few months I would discover that being a stay at home parent to 3 kids under 5 would certainly have its challenges… physically, mentally, logistically. My experiences have grown me to a level I never thought I’d reach… some might say, “wise beyond my years,” or maybe I’d just say that, because I’m getting old. But I do have some helpful tips and hints… some might say I’m “relatable”… but I really stole that idea from Ellen and her recent stand-up show on Netflix.
Hi. I’m Katelyn, and I live in Rochester, NY, one of the grayest cities in the country. Despite its gray-ness, I’ve called this place home for pretty much my entire life, including my college career. It’s not as bad as it sounds… we are close to the water and the summers are beautiful! All 3 months! The snow for the better part of 6 is another story. I am a mom of 3 girls, Kendall, Riley, and Harper, as well as two dogs. I’m also a hamster mom, but it isn’t my proudest title.
Chris is my husband, and we have been rocking the married life since 2013. He is the reason for my blog title, and if you want to know the story behind that, please feel free to ask. If you already know it, consider yourself among the inner-est of my circle.
I am a passionate Jesus follower, and I aim to please Him in everything that I do. I became a Christian at 24 or so years of age, and because of that I carry a lot of experience from “the other side”. I may not be proud of some of my decision, but I for sure think it gives me a unique perspective on life and in my own faith journey.
